Maureen Hornyak, ACSW

Life is a learning curve; we all make mistakes, so when working with the right tools, we are prepared to get back up when life knocks us down. We are often haunted by our past, leaving us feeling hopeless for the future, but I am here to help you get back on track by using a strengths-based approach to show you that your past does not define who you are. As a clinician, I aim to help everyone strive to live their best lives. I have a genuine passion for working with people and helping them to learn new coping skills to add to their toolbox. 

I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky, with a specialty certification in Clinical. I completed my Bachelor’s in Social Work at California State University, Chico. 

 Finding a therapist can be overwhelming, and I commend you for coming this far. I connect well with people of all backgrounds through humor, open-mindedness, understanding, and having lived experiences.

 I offer telehealth and in-person appointments to people in Chico, Yuba City, and California. I am a domestic violence advocate and registered drug counselor with years of experience working with individuals facing everyday challenges from anxiety, addiction, domestic violence, homelessness, family dysfunction, trauma, and much more.
