Caitlin Carnegie, AMFT
Associate Marriage and Family Therapist
Hi there! I’m Caitlin, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #138154) specializing in Art Therapy. Alongside pursuing full licensure as an LMFT, I’m on the path to becoming one of the few Registered Art Therapists (ATR-BC) in Northern California.
Curious about Art Therapy? It’s a mental health profession that integrates active art- making and applied psychological theory to enrich the human experience within a therapeutic relationship. In my therapy space, I leverage art as an expressive outlet, helping clients unravel the connections between their emotions and lived experiences. Through Art Therapy, I attempt to foster a sense of self-esteem, self-awareness, emotional resilience and personal insight within my clients while supporting them in reducing conflicts and distress. I also incorporate modalities like CBT, Gestalt, Narrative Therapy and Attachment to strengthen the therapeutic relationship and facilitate progress.
As a clinician, my goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment where clients can explore their identities. In my practice, I offer support to Adolescents and Adults in navigating the complexities of diagnoses such as Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, and PTSD. Additionally, I address issues related to grief, boundaries, self-care and LGBTQ+ concerns.
